Amy's Story

Amy was born and raised in Oregon.  After high school, she moved to Los Angeles to attend the University of Southern California and then to the Deep South, where she earned a Master of Science in Health Administration at the University of Alabama at Birmingham.  After finishing her classwork, she found her way to El Paso and to Adrian.  Her hobbies include traveling, hiking, singing, and binge-watching Oscar nominated films.

Adrian's Story

Adrian is an El Paso native who remained in his hometown for school, studied business at the University of Texas at El Paso, and couldn't be convinced to leave what he'd always called home until he met Amy. He spent his first year in Oregon (before Amy joined him) playing futsal, exploring the outdoors, and hanging out with Amy’s family when Amy wasn’t around. He is an avid follower of the Dallas Cowboys and enjoys trying new things. He can’t wait to see what new adventures lie ahead of them.

Our Relationship

Both Adrian and Amy enjoy microbrews, so it’s fitting they met at Oktoberfest at Hoppy Monk, El Paso's main craft beer bar.  Amy actually made the first move, with the exceedingly clever line of “Hi! I’m Amy.”  She quickly realized she was talking to someone special, and Adrian felt the same.  The next few weeks were a flurry of fantastic dates, from going ghost hunting to road tripping to see the Arizona Opera in Phoenix.  Within a year, Adrian found a job in Portland at Amy's behest.  Amy finally followed in April 2015.  In September 2016, after dating for three years and living together for several months, Adrian proposed at the Portland Rose Garden.
